2024 Spring Newsletter

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 

 Ephesians 3:14-19

I love how God just puts an idea in your head and you just know it’s from God. This verse came to mind when I was sending out the invite to last year’s Missionaries to return to camp. As soon as put it into my email, I knew this was the verse for this year. What do we want for Christian Youth? That God’s glorious riches God would strengthen them through the Holy Spirit and for Christ to live in their hearts through FAITH. PLEASE take up this prayer with me, for God’s strength to bring our Team to deeper and deeper faith. That we would be so filled up that the Holy Spirit would flow through us to start revival in our campers that would spread like wildfire!

To love God is to serve Him and to serve Him is to love Him.
Thank you LORD.

God changing lives through serving Him

My name is Aidan. My life was pretty drab before I came to camp. I was depressed, alone, and worst of all, without any real sense of direction.  But that all changed when Teresa invited me to work at Monarch Bible Camp.

For the first time in my life, I felt accepted, I had purpose, and most importantly, I found myself.  Now things are on the mend, I’m attending Charis Christian College and I have devoted my life and all of my possessions to God, whom I intend to serve for the rest of my life.

Working at Monarch has educated me, as well as let me have fun. Watching the children play, and grow their faith and learn about God inspired me to learn more as well so that I could influence them. Growing strong connections with the campers and councillors made camp a fun experience.  I was always surrounded and taken care of by friends and by God, praying to Him for the campers and fellow staff more and more as the weeks progressed. Monarch was a perfect experience for me to make friends and deepen my faith in a social setting.

I am looking forward to the new year of spreading God's love. Serving at Monarch is something I've felt called to serve at since I was young. I have been profound-ly impacted by the experiences that I've had at camp; some have shaped who I am today. I want nothing more than to give back to the new generation of kids who need to hear the grace of God.
My passion for Monarch and my commitment to its values run deep. I believe wholeheartedly that I am prepared to take on the responsibilities of a staff member at these camps. I want to express my deep gratitude for all the exceptions you have made for me. The friendships and spiritual growth I have experienced due to this have had a great impact on my life, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Monarch Bible Camp.                Jessica      

I heard God calling me to help out at Monarch Bible Camp last summer after listening to Teresa speak at my church. What I didn't know was that it was going to be one of the most faith-strengthening
experiences of my life. While there, I was able to meet kind,
whole-hearted people, and although we came from different
denominations, we felt like a family. Every one of them helped me on my walk with God in some way.  At West Guilford, I recommitted my life to Jesus. I would go on to get baptized a few weeks later at my church after sharing my testimony.  Jacob

Both programs focus on discipleship, drawing closer to  God , Bible study and memorizing God’s Word. We encourage them to serve the Lord with positive words, acts of kindness and sharing God’s love.

This is Slack Line a balance activity.

Strung between 2 trees, it can be cooperative and competitive. It has been popular.

Missions Team 2024

Ideally, a Team of 10-12 Missionaries for full summer would suit our needs.  So far,  7 persons have commited to return , a mix of full/part summer

Please pray for a solid Christ-centered Team, a mix of new and returning.

 

Campers

Registration are coming in steadily and numbers are looking good. Please pray for our campers, that God will draw them close to Him,  that Monarch will minister to their needs well,  help every camper feel cared for and important and make camp tons of fun

 

FaithSpark

Created by One Hope Canada, FaithSpark is a discipleship app that allows  leaders to stay safely connected with kids and youth year-round. 175 camps and  kids + youth  ministries are using FaithSpark to build strong relationships and learn about God with Chapel sessions, memory work, games and FUN. Unlike social media apps, FaithSpark is a closed community. People can only join by invite.  Features like a photo and video gallery, quiz games a digital question box, group chats and more, help engage kids and keep them connected.

It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that our beloved Teresa Ward, Camp Director of Monarch Bible Camp, passed away peacefully on March 2nd 2025 with her husband Barrie and her 5 children by her side. While we rejoice that Teresa is home with our Saviour, we grieve with her family and friends. A memorial will be planned for Teresa sometime in April. Please be in prayer for Barrie, their 5 children and 2 grandchildren.
